Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis admits he's keen for manager Arsene Wenger to pen a new deal as soon as possible.
Gazidis said that a new deal "will happen" sooner or later and then went on to explain his reasoning.
"It is not a sentimental thing," Gazidis told arsenal.com. "It is the belief that he is the right person to push us forward.
"If I thought he did not have ambition and was not the most capable person we would have a different conversation. But in terms of his contract extension it is something we very much want to get done, it will happen and will be announced at the right time."
