Arsenal and Chelsea have passed on hiring Luis Enrique over attitude concerns.
The former Barcelona boss was a top target for both London clubs this summer.
While he was pursued by the Premier League duo, Enrique is not set to end up at either club.
Marca says the outcome is down to his personality and attitude in meetings with Arsenal and Chelsea.
Blues director Marina Granovskaia, who works closely with owner Roman Abramovich, was initially optimistic of reaching an agreement with Enrique after talks back in January and February.
But it is said his persona prevented any progress being made, with Chelsea's hierarchy deeming him 'arrogant'.
Arsenal had concerns over his salary demands, and again the tone in negotiations led to the Gunners cooling their interest.
