Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to bid for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.

Wenger has admitted he needs to make a new defensive signing this month and favours buying from within the Premier League.

The Times says Arsenal are preparing to do battle with Chelsea for the services of Cahill.
