Arsenal are competing with Tottenham for FC Twente attacker Bryan Ruiz.
The Costa Rica international revealed interest from Spurs earlier this week, admitting his agent had been contacted by representatives from White Hart Lane.
However, Algemeen Dagblad says Arsenal are also interested in Ruiz and now are weighing up opening talks with Twente about a fee for the dynamic attacking midfielder.
Twente are seeking €15 million for Ruiz.
"Last year we made the deal that this summer he could go at a good price," said chairman Joop Munsterman.
