Arsenal and Real Madrid are tracking Valencia fullback Jose Luis Gaya.
Arsenal have made enquiries for the youngster after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was urged to take a closer look at Gaya by chief scout Steve Rowley.
The 19 year-old left-back is under contract until 2018 and his buyout clause is set at 18m. Valencia are under no pressure to sell with Peter Lim now in charge.
Real coaching staff rate the 19 year-old among the best young prospects in Spain.
The youngster's performance in victory over Real Madrid at the Mestalla was enough to convince Bernabeu chiefs to put him on their shopping list.
