Arsenal challenge Man Utd for Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia

Arsenal are rivaling Manchester United for Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia.

An approach from United to sign the 24-year-old in the final days of the transfer window was rejected, but it has been reported he will move to Old Trafford this summer instead.

No actual agreement is in place however, and The Times report that Arsenal have made a tentative inquiry about his availability.

arsenal can have him, hes average at best & no better than what we already have. if united did sign him i would be livid & would be as bad a signing as henderson was for liverpool this year & a waste of money like him

U this stupod press should leave our coach alone. We want him to concentrate fully on the job at hand. Up Chelsea.
