Arsenal to challenge for Dr Pepper Dallas Cup

Arsenal will compete in next year's Dr Pepper Dallas Cup.

The tournament, which is taking place at the Pizza Hut Park complex, the home of MLS Side FC Dallas, from April 17th - 24th 2011, will see Arsenal's young side coming up against opponents from top Italian, German, Mexican and Brazilian sides, with the Gunners participating in the 'Super Group' section of the competition.

Liam Brady, Arsenal's Head of Youth Development said of the tournament: "The Dallas Cup gives our boys great competition against clubs from all over the world by which we can measure ourselves. It also of course gives the players an opportunity to go to the United States and sample the culture, which in itself is an education for the young players.

"Travelling and representing the Club is an important part of a player's development, and appearing at a prestigious tournament like this will be a great test for our young players. We're very thankful for the invitation to participate and look forward to the challenge next April. We know Arsenal has a huge following in the United States and we hope many fans will come to see our young talent."
