Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood is confident they'll secure Robin van Persie to a new contract.
Van Persie is refusing to talk about a new deal and will have just one year left on his contract in the summer.
But Hill-Wood insisted the skipper was not likely to copy Samir Nasri, who left for Manchester City in August as his contract was going into the final year.
"I think Robin wants to stay, he seems very happy," said Hill-Wood in the Daily Star.
"Nothing has been discussed, though it is obvious we want him to stay. He doesn't want to talk about a contract now and that's fine with us."
