Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas says he went straight to teammate Robin van Persie after the final whistle of the World Cup final.
Cesc says rather than celebrate immediately with his Spain teammates, he sought out Dutch striker Van Persie.
He said in his Arsenal match programme notes: "The very first thing I did after the referee blew for full-time was speak to Robin and shake his hand," he recalls. "I know how it is - you don't think about anything else once you've started your celebrations, so I went straight to him before joining in.
"I told him he also deserved to win, and I think everyone should be proud that Arsenal had a player on each side in the final."
