Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is happy to see Lionel Messi named FIFA World Player of the Year.

Cesc played with Messi with Barcelona juniors.

"I'd like to congratulate my friend Lionel Messi," Fabregas told Arsenal's Official Matchday Programme. "This time for being named Fifa World Player of the Year.

"I believe he's the only player in history to have won every trophy he's been involved in during a season - the two most important individual honours and six competitions out of six for Barcelona.

"He scored in four different Finals for them, most recently the World Club Championships winner against Estudiantes, so it's been a perfect year for him."
