Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fears injury could rob English football of their version of Lionel Messi.
At SunderlandJack Wilshere could last only 50 minutes following a sterling display for England in midweek and that fragility has the Arsenal manager worried.
"Jack's game is to take the ball and go at people," said Wenger. "Messi does that as well and he plays without being injured. You can only make a career with the strong aspect of your game.
"Jack had given a lot at Wembley against Brazil and you cannot turn it on like that every three days. From very early in the game he was handicapped against Sunderland."
