Arsenal boss Wenger willing to gamble with Cesc fitness

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to take a gamble with Cesc Fabregas' for their Champions League clash with Porto.

Cesc suffered a hamstring strain in Arsenal's win over Burnley on Saturday.

Wenger said: "It depends how big the gamble is - I am ready to take the gamble. But if there is more than a 50 per cent chance his hamstring goes, I will not take it."

Fabregas' consistency has been one of the highlight's of Arsenal's campaign so far.

Wenger said: "Cesc is a fantastic player, with fantastic attitude and commitment. What people forget is he has an unbelievable work-rate too - Cesc is everywhere.

"This season he has made a big step forward, at 22 he has matured."
