Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he won't bend over his footballing principles.

Wenger declared: “In this game, you are not God when everyone says you are and you are not miserable when everyone says you are.

“The truth is somewhere in between. We play the game the way we do because I believe it is the most efficient way to bring success. People question our approach when we don’t win but Arsenal were the only team to go an entire season unbeaten and we played in exactly the same way then.

“Of course I listen to what the critics are saying. I do not claim to be the one who knows absolutely everything while everyone else knows nothing.”

Wenger insists his youngsters are more than capable of matching Manchester United.

He claimed: “If the League is decided by experience then we will go down. Every single club has more experience than us. But success is not linked with experience. It is linked with intelligence and ability. You can be 18 and intelligent and you can be 30 but still stupid.

“I am proud of my players. Right now I would not exchange my position with any other manager in the world because I believe so much in the qualities of my players.”
