Arsenal boss Wenger well aware of Southampton qualities

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that he is aware of the qualities of Southampton ahead of the league clash between the two sides at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Saints demolished the Gunners 4-0 in the reverse fixture on the Boxing Day and Wenger suggests he knows what to expect from Ronald Koeman's Saints this time around.

The Frenchman said: "Southampton have a good team and let's not forget they won at Man United, they won at Chelsea, they are a team with quality players like (Dusan) Tadic, (Sadio) Mané, (Shane) Long, (Graziano) Pellè, (Jose) Fonte at the back, (Victor) Wanyama.

"They are a team with top quality.

"I felt on the day [in December] we did not have the mental energy. We put a lot in. It was Christmas, we always go to Southampton at the Christmas period.

"We got caught by a team that was full of desire."
