Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has welcomed their deal for Palermo goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.
Viviano has signed a season-long loan deal with Arsenal, with the Gunners having the option to make the deal permanent.
Wenger revealed his delight at being able to bring Viviano to north London, admitting the goalkeeper had been on his radar.
"Viviano is a player that we have rated for some time and we are very pleased to have signed him on loan," he told arsenal.com.
"He's experienced and has proved himself at a high level, and provides us with excellent cover to our existing goalkeepers."
