Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits Danny Welbeck isn't a natural goalscorer.
Wenger says it's wrong to compare him with Tottenham star Harry Kane.
He said: "I like him because he can play left, right or up front. For me he is a useful player, first of all because of his quality.
"He might not be a goalscorer like Harry Kane for example, but for England he can perfectly play with Harry Kane because he play on the flanks.
"What is the contrary of useful? Un-useful. Who dreams of being un-useful? We all want to be useful.
"First to be a star, you have to be useful. It's not necessarily not going together. 'Useful' for me is positive. What you mean by 'useful' is a little bit negative. I mean 'useful' because he can play in different positions and I am happy with that."
