Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the club is no closer to signing West Bromwich Albion winger Jonny Evans.

But the Frenchman has assured fans that there will be deals made this month.

When asked about the Northern Irish centre-back, Wenger replied: "No, I cannot give you any news on any transfer because we are not close to signing anybody.

"We signed a Greek boy who looks quite good in training but apart from that, we have not done anything.

"Will we be out there to do something? Yes we will."
