Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants Theo Walcott to be overlooked for England's U21 European Championship campaign.

He said: "I would prefer it, but that's all I can do. We can try to influence it, but we cannot decide it.

"If Walcott is burned out, they will suffer as well. There's a World Cup at the end of the season and if there's no summer break, it will not work.

"We ask always that the guy plays only for one team."
