Arsenal boss Wenger urges fans not to target Tottenham striker Adebayor

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged fans not to boo Emmanuel Adebayor for their derby clash.

The Tottenham star is set to be targeted by Gunners fans in his first Spurs outing against his old club.

But the Arsenal boss said: "That is what you don't want. You want people to support the team in a positive way, not all the hate.

"A football game is a fantastic day that everyone has to enjoy and with a positive atmosphere it is even more fantastic.

"So to our fans, let's get behind our team and forget about the rest.

"Adebayor is a great player. I really don't know what went wrong.

"Of course I rate him. He can be a threat on Sunday."
