Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged England coach Roy Hodgson to be careful with Calum Chambers.
Hodgson names his next England squad on Thursday ahead of September's double header against Norway on September 3 and the Euro 2016 qualifier in Switzerland five days later.
Wenger said: "I share completely your assessment on Calum Chambers, he has done extremely well.
"But I think as well in England you have to be a bit more patient.
"He has played three games and I think it is important for the development of the players that it doesn't go too fast.
"Not so much on the football front but psychologically as well.
"That players feel hurdle after hurdle they feel stronger and it doesn't go too quick for them.
"For me that is something that is very important in development."
