Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger turned down Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp when they came knocking for coaching jobs, it has been revealed.

The Sunday Telegraph says Wenger has also been resistant to requests from some former players to be involved in the club's set-up.

It is believed both Vieira and Bergkamp approached Wenger to ask if they could take coaching or ambassadorial roles before being appointed by Manchester City and Ajax.
