Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has paid tribute to AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes.

The France defender scored a wonder goal in Milan's Champions League win at Anderlecht last week.

"I saw the Mexes goal and it was frankly fabulous. It's great to score a goal like that, but especially for a defender," said Wenger.

"Philippe has had his psychological problems, but on a technical level, his quality is undeniable."
