Arsenal boss Wenger told Ramsey: You'd have no chance at Man Utd

Arsene Wenger convinced Aaron Ramsey about moving to Arsenal by mapping out how difficult it would be for him to break into Manchester United's first team.

The South Wales Echo says in a two-hour, no-holds barred question-and-answer session over dinner, Wenger outlined how the 17-year-old's future would take shape at Arsenal.

Wenger's trump card was that Ramsey's route to first-team football would be far more difficult at Old Trafford than at the Emirates with household names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, Owen Hargreaves, Darren Fletcher, Ji-Sung Park, Anderson, and Nani blocking his way.

By contrast at the Emirates the path to first-team status looks far more inviting with just Tomas Rosicky, Gilberto Silva, Emmanuel Eboue, Denilson and Abou Diaby in his way if Alexander Hleb and Cesc Fabregas move on this summer.

Wenger also sold Arsenal to Ramsey by claiming his style of game wasn't suited to the way United play.
