Arsenal boss Wenger tells Szczesny, Fabianski he won't sign new keeper

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ended his pursuit of a new goalkeeper.

Wenger will go with Wojciech Szczesny and Lukas Fabianski as his keepers until January.

The London Evening Standard says Szczesny and Fabianski received assurances from Wenger that they remain an important part of his plans for the campaign and that any goalkeeper the club does sign will not automatically be the new No1.

Wenger is thought to hold Szczesny in high regard and is convinced the 23-year-old has what it takes to establish himself as one of the finest goalkeepers in Europe.

The Arsenal manager has also been impressed with Fabianski's commitment in training despite rumours that he could leave this summer given he has just one year left on his deal.
