Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is planning to continue buying young British players.
The Telegraph says Wenger has reassured his current players that Arsenal will have the financial firepower to supplement the squad with established quality as well as other emerging young talent.
He feels that the first stage of that process was achieved with the signings of Per Mertesacker, Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Mikel Arteta but there is also a desire to add to the squad next month. A proven striker is a priority, as well as a holding midfielder and possibly a goalkeeper.
Southampton left-back Luke Shaw and Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha have also been identified as players who could further enhance the core of young British talent.
