Arsenal boss Wenger targets Sunderland's Sessegnon as Walcott replacement

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is chasing Sunderland winger Stephane Sessegnon.

The Daily Star Sunday says Wenger is rethinking his approach at the Emirates in the wake of the humiliating 4-0 defeat by AC Milan in midweek.

And that will mean a summer delve into the transfer market to bolster his squad with Premier League experience.

Sessegnon, 27, has impressed boss Martin O'Neill, who has described him as "essential" to his plans at the Stadium of Light .

The Benin ace has scored nine goals in nearly 40 games for the Black Cats since a £6million switch from Paris Saint-Germain. His arrival could prompt the sale of underachieving England winger Theo Walcott, 22.
