Arsenal boss Wenger: Stoke's Shawcross has cleaned up his act

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has no problem with the England selection of Stoke City skipper Ryan Shawcross.

Shawcross was in the news for the wrong reasons two years ago when his tackle on Aaron Ramsey left the Arsenal player with a broken leg. Wenger was furious at the time, claiming Shawcross and his team-mates were turning the sport into rugby.

But Wenger said yesterday: "I think Shawcross has improved and cleaned up his act.

"You know what happened but you cannot convict a player forever because of that."
