Arsenal boss Wenger still eager to do Sterling business in January

Arsenal remain eager to do a deal with Manchester City for Raheem Sterling.

The Mirror says Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the Manchester City forward and an approach for him could yet hold the key to Alexis Sanchez's future.

The Blues failed with their bid for Sanchez at the end of the summer transfer window, when Arsenal believed they were willing to offer Sterling as part of a deal.

After giving up on Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, the Londoners could now make a fresh bid for Sterling, as they look for top class replacements for Sanchez.

Sterling, who grew up in London before joining Liverpool from Queens Park Rangers in 2010, will have two years left on his contract next summer.
