Arsenal boss Wenger sets points target to win Premier League

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has set a points target to win the Premier League.

Wenger's side are level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table after nine Premier League games, with several of the leading sides slipping up after another weekend of unpredictable results.

Speaking to Arsenal shareholders at the club's AGM, Wenger spelt out what he believed would be required to win his first Premier League title since 2004.

“If you look well after nine games, you can see the first trend is set," stated Wenger.

“It is about 20 points and that means the championship will certainly be decided by 82-86 points and what we have learned since the start of the season, every game you have fight and to absolutely be at your best to have a chance to win it.

“We have to be really focused on details, keeping the energy inside our club but as well much more inside our team at the top level in every single game. Every single detail can make a difference and get you points.

“We have an important month in front of us because when you look at the schedule, the end of October and November could be important because we have many big games."
