Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sees Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac as an ideal January signing.

The People says Gignac is emerging as Arsenal's prime target for the January transfer window.

While Arsene Wenger hopes to welcome back Nicklas Bendtner in the New Year after a hernia operation, Arsenal will be without Robin van Persie until April.

Gignac, 24, was the French league's top goalscorer last season and is a regular in the national team.

Unlike Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh, who also interests the Gunners, Gignac has not played in the Champions League so would be eligible for the knockout stages.
