Arsenal boss Wenger: Ronaldo success hurting Messi morale

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes the success of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is hurting the morale of great rival Lionel Messi.

Wenger says Barcelona ace Messi will be frustrated seeing Ronaldo shoot ahead on the goalscoring charts.

"When he sees Cristiano scoring plenty more goals than he is, his morale will dip. He won't be able to maintain his goalscoring stats playing out on the wing. In the long-term, he won't be happy. Playing on the wing is physically very demanding," said Wenger.

"Messi is his team's best player, its strength. He can make the coach better if there's good chemistry between them. If he isn't happy in his position, it'll weaken the team."
