Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told Patrick Vieira to quit Inter Milan - though doubts he will return to England.

Vieira, 33, has lost his France place as he is out of favour with Inter manager Jose Mourinho.

Wenger is sure to incur the wrath of former Chelsea rival Mourinho, saying: "He must change club in January if he wants to play in the World Cup. He doesn't play enough.

"What he's missing is playing time. To go to the World Cup at his age, you must play.

"But I think Patrick can regain his starting place for France."

Asked if Vieira could make a sensational return to Arsenal, Wenger told French radio station RTL: "If I had to bet, I would put my money on another country. It's complicated for him to come back to this country."
