Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists defender Thomas Vermaelen is not for sale.

Instead, Wenger says he intends to offer the Belgian new terms.

The Frenchman said this morning: "I'm ready to extend Vermaelen's contract. He is a quality player and I'm open to it."
