Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains hopeful of signing Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba.

The People says Wenger is desperate to make defensive reinforcements and is aware that Samba has told Blackburn he wants to leave.

Samba was the subject of an £11mArsenal bid in January and has begged Rovers not to price him out of a dream move to north London.

Tottenham have also shown interest in Samba and could make a bid to spike Arsenal's guns.
