Sporting Lisbon expect Arsenal to bid for William Carvalho next month. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has concerns over his defensive options in midfield as Abou Diaby continues to struggle with injury and Emmanuel Frimpong has failed to maintain his early progress.
A Bola says Carvalho is high on Wenger's agenda and he had top scout Francis Cagigao check on the midfielder against Nacional last week.
Carvalho is also being closely monitored by David Moyes' Manchester United this season.
