Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is lining up a shock move for Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.

The Daily Star says sources in Spain suggest the 27-year-old has become a transfer target for Wenger, who has failed to land a big summer signing thus far.

Modric is said to be feeling unsettled at the La Liga giants, having been reduced to a bit part role under the reign of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United will also move for the former Tottenham star if they cannot sign Barcelona ace Cesc Fabregas.
