Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says it's too soon to judge the long-term quality of Tottenham star Gareth Bale.

Bale was on the Arsenal scouting list as a youngster at Southampton but they were beaten to his signature by Tottenham.

Wenger said: "He has good pace, and a good conversion rate between the chances he creates and the goals he scores.

"The conversion rate is the best in Europe, but to maintain that is very, very difficult."
