Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has taken a big risk with his new Galacticos policy. "The amount of money seems shocking," said Wenger, "but I'm sure the decision to spend such amounts on Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo are the result of a calculation by the investor.

"However, to sign three such players represents a technical risk. It can create a big area of uncertainty.

"But if it works, then Real Madrid will do a lot of damage."
