Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has rubbished claims standards in the Premier League have dropped.
A clustered table and a host of surprising results have led many to suggest the overall quality has dropped, but the Arsenal manager feels that, if anything, the calibre of the league has improved.
"I don't agree with people who say that the overall quality of the league is lower this season," Wenger told the Official Arsenal Matchday Programme. "In fact you can say exactly the reverse.
"On Monday night two quality teams - Aston Villa and Liverpool - met and both sides were in the bottom half. So that opinion is not really proven by concrete facts."
