Arsene Wenger feels Alex Iwobi is starting to add some more strings to his bow.
The Arsenal forward operated in a more central role behind Lucas Perez in Tuesday night's 2-0 EFL Cup fourth-round win over Reading having previously been deployed as a winger.
The Gunners boss felt that the young Nigerian is continuing to develop his game, particularly as a key passer, but has urged him to find a little more confidence when he has a chance in front of goal.
"You see, he is not a typical winger and I think he can play in that role," he said courtesy of Arsenal.com.
"He turns the game forward, he passes the ball through the lines very well. He has a final ball in him.
"He is now a little bit, I think he has it all in the locker to pass and give the final ball. What you want from him now is the finishing, you know.
"That's still a little part that is missing in his game. I think he is too nervous at the moment when he has the possibility to finish."
