Arsenal boss Wenger plans Pato deal to convince Van Persie

Arsenal are monitoring Alexandre Pato's situation at AC Milan. The Milan-based Sportmediaset, which is owned by Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi, says Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has a dream of seeing his captain Robin van Persie in tandem with Pato.

A move as early as January could be on, with Wenger still needing to convince Van Persie that Arsenal can be a contender as his contract winds down.

There are claims Wenger is willing to offer £25 million to convince Milan to sell next month.
