Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has urged Joel Campbell to grab his playing chance.
Wenger has told the Costa Rica forward, 23, to show him why he does not need to get his cheque book out.
He said: “I am not a huge fan of the January transfer window but I've signed Diaby, Arshavin and Gabriel in this spell.
“But this gives the likes of Flamini and Campbell a good opportunity to show themselves in the next few weeks. Flamini not so much, because I know him so well but certainly Campbell.
“He came into the team at Swansea and then again on Tuesday and he did very well. He has shown he has quality.
“If I found it difficult for clubs to release players – top, top players – I would gladly settle with this squad going into the new year."
