Arsenal's French gaffer has come under criticism recently as the Gunners' bid for silverware has unravelled in recent weeks, with the general consensus being that Wenger should have dipped into his transfer war chest last summer.
The snipers have varied opinions. Some say there should be an English backbone at the Emirates, while some say the team is bereft of experience. Most, though, just want Wenger to spend the money that will bring trophies.
However, the manager has hit back, recalling big-money flops like Francis Jeffers and Jose Antonio Reyes, whose transfer fees he struggled to recoup.
Wenger also insisted that he would not be 'scared'to bid for a player like Ronaldinho, who is interesting the giants of Italy, but pleaded poverty on the matter.
"If we have the money, and I am convinced it is worth it, we will do it."
