Arsenal boss Wenger: No need to buy Eduardo replacement

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he won't be moving for a replacement for Eduardo da Silva.

Wenger says he will not buy a replacement for Eduardo da Silva following the Croatia striker's £6million move to Shakhtar Donetsk.

"It is sad to see him leave because it reminds us how badly he was injured," Wenger said of Eduardo, who scored 20 goals in 67 appearances for Arsenal after joining from Dinamo Zagreb three years ago.

"It is sad as well because he is an outstanding player but he is 27 and he needs to play. He will have that opportunity with Shakhtar. Up front we have plenty of players and I believe it is good for his future.

"We still have Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner to come back and join the squad and we now have Marouane Chamakh. I don't think I will go into the market for a centre forward."
