Arsenal boss Wenger: No chance of Bolton return for Wilshere

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has explained why he didn't allow Jack Wilshere to join Bolton Wanderers on-loan this season.

Wenger is weighing up whether to start Wilshere in today's home game against Bolton, where he spent five months last season.

He revealed: "Owen Coyle wanted to take him on loan again this year but after watching Jack in pre-season I decided he was ready to challenge for a place at Arsenal.

"He was only 17 when he went there and he has come back with more experience and more power. He has grown physically and is stronger.

"But Bolton did not teach him to play football. He was already a very gifted player when he went there."
