Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is furious with his players after their humiliating defeat to Ostersunds last night.
The Gunners, leading 3-0 from the first leg, found themselves 2-0 down inside 22 minutes. Arsenal lost 2-1, but progressed in the Europa League 4-2 on aggregate.
Boss Wenger, whose side must now pick themselves up for Sunday's Carabao Cup Final against Manchester City, said: “In the second half we were much better and should have scored more goals.
“In the first half we were in trouble and danger because we were complacent, not focused. We were open when we lost the ball and had no ideas when we had the ball. That's why we were in trouble.
“We prepared in a serious way. But you have external circumstances - like the fact we won the first leg 3-0 and we have a big game on Sunday - and people subconsciously think they just have to turn up to win.
“But it doesn't work like that. We played against a good side.
“We have seen in the FA Cup many times upsets like that. We were not at the level we demanded."
