Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Samir Nasri's World Cup snub has inspired the midfielder this season.
Nasri has been superb this campaign for the Gunners.
"He [Nasri] has certainly physically benefited from it," said Wenger.
"Certainly he questioned himself. To be dropped from the World Cup squad created the desire to show how good he is.
"You would think that some teams have been hit very hard by the World Cup. Take Bayern Munich [for example], Germany went very far in the World Cup and at the start of this season they had Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben injured."
