Arsenal boss Wenger makes personal call to Liverpool, Real Madrid target Hazard

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made a move for Lille dazzler Eden Hazard. The Daily Mail says Wenger has put in a personal call to Hazard in a bid to tempt him to join Arsenal, reports in France claim.

Arsenal are leading the race to sign the Belgium international, who is one of Europe's hottest properties, but face stiff competition from many of the continent's top clubs, including the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Liverpool, against whom Hazard scored in their Europa League tie earlier this month.

Wenger's personal call is reminiscent of a similar conversation he had with Thomas Vermaelen, Hazard's international team-mate, just weeks before the defender signed for the Gunners from Ajax last summer.
