Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is pushing to land Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou. The People says Wenger is a long-term admirer and tried to sign the Ivorian three years ago.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, the then-Blues boss, refused to do business - but now Wenger is ready to test new gaffer Andre Villas-Boas' desire to hang on to the hitman.

Kalou, who joined Chelsea in an £8million switch from Dutch side Feyenoord five years ago, has slipped well down the pecking order at the Bridge and has started only two league games this season.
