Arsenal boss Wenger insists Newcastle meltdown was not that bad

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists returning to Newcastle United this weekend holds no terror.

Arsenal threw away a four-goal lead on Tyneside last term with Newcastle roaring back from being 4-0 down at half time.

Wenger recalled: "People forget that 4-4 is normally a good football game because you get eight goals.

"We had an exceptional first half in that game but they only came back when we played with 10 men - undeservedly so.

"They got two penalties under special circumstances.

"The first half was probably our best of the season but because they came back, we didn't get any credit for that."
